Just tears me up a lot, considering I met you in Dublin in April 2023 when I went to see Paramore (as I write this, I'm heading back to Dublin at the end of July to see an Irish tribute act called Paramór).

Eleanor, this was one hell of a read, you tell a story beautifully. Hayley and her team clearly trust you to capture the magic that happens on that stage, and you did it in tenfold. I feel it with every picture of yours, you are a true superstar.

Hilarious how you can be having the time of your life in the morning meeting Hayley friggin Williams then few hours later, you’re in Sunderland Bus Station. Totally feel you that one looool.

P.S never change ur hair it is my favourite landmark in a crowd. What a pleasure it is to know you!!!!!!!! ⭐️💛

sgeff, i love ya!!!! thank you so much for soaking it up and for the nice words - those manchester shows were beyond special with you! really chuffed that my photos translated into the experience you remember. if anyone’s gonna get it, it’s you guys ❤️

also YEAH re: the bus station… a very surreal morning eh lol 🥲 feels like an eternity ago too, what do you mean it wasn’t even a month ago yet?!?

it’s a pleasure to know YOU! can’t wait to have hangs with you and emma again sometime soon 💛💛💛

This is totally gorgeous oh my god, both the writing and the photography!!! I'm a photographer too (admittedly not at photo-pass level yet!) but you capture the concert feeling so well - I've been living these shows vicariously through Instagram reels so thank you for putting it all so well into words <3

thank you SO much for these words + for taking the time to read!!!! i hope you get to cover some gigs, if that’s where you want to be, the feeling is like no other. love hearing from another photographer and knowing you’ll ‘get it’ 💛

this was a very dreamy read. it reminded me of all the times music, paramore, and witnessing hayley’s creative expression have been ‘what i have needed’ at the time. i was on the boat during the second parahoy, so i was lucky enough to witness the siren version of ‘future’ in real time. ill never forget that moment.

i had debated on going on the cruise because the month before, i had 3 deaths right after another in my personal life. i didn’t feel right going on a fun trip when everything was so sad. but i went. (thank god.) the whole boat got so quiet and you could hear her voice echo off into the dark of the ocean and when she screamed ‘yeah!’ and the crowd turned into stardust, i was reminded of why i stay. the explosion of music and expression blew right into my ribcage and restarted my heart that very moment. i cried sad and happy tears. alive tears.

between the soft serve and the sun and the siren call of hoping for uncertain future, i got off that boat a little less afraid to keep living. worn from grief with fresh skin peeking out from under the scab, an ego death. determined to keep living and listening to music and creating art.

omg thank you for writing this and inspiring me to remember that. also, i bet some young photographer listening to her favorite band in her room will read this and say ‘if she can do it, so can i’ and i think that’s really cool. been following you for years, so proud.

jessie this was a stunning read, thank you for sharing your experience on parahoy!!! i so wish i’d been there, especially for the future performance, and i can just imagine how it struck you - the crowd turning into stardust is a beautiful image. an ego death in the pitch black in the middle of the ocean seems very fitting - and i’m so happy you ended up going even though things had been hard 💛 your end paragraph here made me tear up too, i can’t thank you enough for sending this. i sure hope it keeps the chain alive

Such a great read! Felt like i was with you in the trench.

That shot of your hair in the eras crowd is hilarious!

Also, i'd love to see more of your pictures!

eleanor's avatar

thank you so much, i’m so glad that came across!!! hahaha, i need to frame the eras pic - it’s so silly that you can see me from SPACE.

and yes, i’ll have to share!! there’s some more over on instagram, but i’ll post some extras here in a note at some stage :)

Such a gorgeous piece and wonderful testament to EDAABP, particularly your colorful whirlwind of an intro. “This era runs yellow: an unabashed honey, teetering on gold.” 🔥🔥🔥 And I smiled at “Hayley Williams does not know nonchalance.” As much as I love the studio version of “I Won’t Quit on You” the live version hits SO much harder.

Congratulations on this huge milestone, Eleanor!! The photos are sublime!!

this is masterfully written, there is truly nobody more deserving of this opportunity and nobody more capable of capturing hayley’s brilliance than you. i have a sneaking suspicion that that whole show pass was because she trusted that you’d document the full spectrum of ego death at its very best (and you did) this truly was for little eleanor, soak it all in friend !!!!! i’m so glad our paths crossed 🤍

shi you’re going to make me cry!!!! thank you as always for your kindness 😭 i’m so glad our paths crossed too 💛 you’re the sweetest

Such beautiful writing! I didn't manage to catch a show but this made me feel so much more connected to them. You really know how to make even the small things extremely captivating. What a gorgeous human being 💛
